Tolentino Oil-Wax - iPad Zip Folio

A zip folio cut close to the iPad, so it adds almost nothing to the bag it goes into. The zip runs along two sides and opens the case wide; a velvet lining keeps the screen and the aluminium off the leather.

The leather is oiled full-grain cowhide, about 2 mm thick. The oil sits in the hide rather than on top of it, so it darkens where you hold it and turns everyday marks into character. A short leather strap on the back lets you carry it in one hand.

About real leather

Oiled leather records where it has been. A scratch lightens, then fades back as the oil moves, and the tone varies from one hide to the next. That is the material, not a defect.

Care

Keep it dry and out of direct sun. Rub light marks with a finger or a dry cloth. A neutral leather balm once or twice a year is enough.
