Montalcino is a hard case for a single bottle of wine, with the four tools you need to open and pour it fitted into the lid. Take it to a dinner, leave it on a desk when the deal is closed, or hand it over at Christmas: the bottle arrives as a gift, not in a bag from the shop.

Why Montalcino. Montalcino is the Tuscan hill town of Brunello, a wine that by its own rules cannot be sold until January of the fifth year after its harvest, after at least two years in wood. We named this case after it, because the bottles that deserve this kind of care are the ones that have already waited.

This is our vegan line. The outside is vegan leather, a coated surface and not animal hide, wrapped around a rigid box. The croc grain, the tooled floral and the two-tone panels (some finishes carry a printed or embossed motif, shown in the photos) are pressed into the surface, not grown, and we would rather say so here than let the photos do the talking. Inside, a soft flocked lining and a strap that holds the bottle still.

Care

• Wipe the outside with a soft, slightly damp cloth. No solvents and no leather conditioner: this surface does not need feeding.
