Buying for an Apple user looks easy until you have to choose a model. iPhones change shape almost every year, AirPods come in several generations and Apple Watch straps come in size groups. A beautiful case in the wrong size is not much of a gift.
This guide sorts our gifts by how much you need to know about the other person's devices, and covers what they should know about real leather before they unwrap it.
If you do not know their exact devices, give something that does not depend on one model: an AirPods case that fits several generations, an Apple Watch strap chosen by case size, a MacBook sleeve chosen by screen size, or a desk piece. If you do know their iPhone, a case and an AirPods case in the same leather is the most complete gift.

What is the safest leather gift if you do not know their model?
An AirPods case. Our Lecce case fits five generations: AirPods Pro 3, Pro 2, Pro, AirPods 4 and AirPods 3. It comes in five colours: Cognac, Tan, Espresso, Black and Stone. Lecce is vegan leather, a synthetic material rather than hide, and we say so plainly. It keeps its colour and needs no conditioning, which suits someone who wants things to stay as they are. You still choose the generation when you order.
An Apple Watch strap. Straps are sold by size group, not by watch model, so you only need the case size. Our Cremona strap is full-grain top-layer cowhide with a vintage Pull-Up finish in antique brown. It lightens where it bends and darkens where it is touched. A MacBook sleeve. You need the screen size, which is easier to guess than an iPhone model. Our Ivrea sleeve is Pull-Up leather in 13.3, 14.2 and 16-inch sizes. It has an open top with no zip, so there is nothing metal near the screen, and it is 20 mm slim. When the laptop comes out, the sleeve lies flat as a mouse pad. It comes in Cognac, which lightens with use, and Espresso, which deepens.
Something for the desk or the host. Our desk accessories and wine carriers need no model at all. A wine carrier with a good bottle inside is a quiet, practical gift for a dinner host.
What should you give if you know their iPhone?
Then you can give the piece they will hold most often. Choose by how you want it to age:
- Ferrara: Italian full-grain Crazy Horse cowhide from the Mastrotto tannery. Crazy Horse is a finish, not the animal: the hide is cow, worked with a heavy wax. It changes the fastest. Built-in MagSafe magnet.
- Copenhagen: vegetable-tanned Italian cowhide from Conceria 800, a Tuscan tannery working since 1969. It deepens in tone and gains a softer glow, month by month.
- Napoli: Italian Nappa, smooth and supple, with a metal camera frame and a MagSafe-ready core. For someone who prefers a quiet look.
- Torino: full-grain Oil-Wax leather over a full-cover shell with a built-in MagSafe ring. Slim and understated.

What should they know about real leather?
Real leather arrives with its own grain, shade and small natural marks. Two pieces of the same model will not look identical. On Crazy Horse, light scratches are expected and blend in with warmth and use. None of this is a defect. It is how you tell full-grain hide from a printed sheet.
It also changes. Hands, light and daily use darken it and soften it into a patina, and no two pieces age the same way. If you include a card, one line is enough: the marks are meant to happen. Our guide to leather patina explains why.
Care is light. A soft dry or slightly damp cloth, no alcohol or harsh cleaners, and natural drying if it gets wet. Leather watch straps should come off before swimming or a shower. Our care guide has the details for each leather.

What are the most common gift mistakes?
- Guessing the iPhone model from photos. Pro and Pro Max models look alike in pictures. Check the Model Name in Settings.
- Mixing up Apple Watch sizes. On Series 10, 42 mm is the smaller size, and our straps list it with the smaller sizes, next to 40 and 41 mm. Check the number on the back of the watch.
- Assuming vegan leather is leather. Lecce is synthetic. If they want real hide, choose a leather case for their AirPods generation instead.
- Giving Parma to someone who charges on MagSafe every day. Its oil-rich leather can show a circular mark from frequent MagSafe charging. For daily MagSafe charging, Ferrara, Torino or Napoli are a better fit.
- Forgetting the laptop size. Ivrea is cut to the millimetre for each MacBook size, so a 14-inch laptop needs the 14.2 size.

- Decide what you know. Nothing, their watch or AirPods, or their exact iPhone.
- Decide how it should age. Leather changes with use. Alcantara and vegan leather stay as they are.
