Sanremo is a structured travel case in oiled cowhide, shaped to the headphones rather than to a box. The zip runs all the way round, a removable mount holds the earcups still, and the lid carries a microfibre pocket for the cable, a card or two and the charger. A small opening at the back lets the cable through, so the headphones charge without coming out.

The outside is cowhide with an oiled finish, in a deep coffee brown with caramel stitching. Oiled leather keeps moving after it leaves the workshop: it darkens where your hands hold it and lightens where it bends.

Why Sanremo. On 29 January 1951, in the hall of the Sanremo casino, three singers took part in a small song contest broadcast on Italian radio. It became the Sanremo Festival, and every winter since, Italy stops to listen. In 2021 its winners, Måneskin, went on to win Eurovision in Rotterdam. About real leather

This is a hide, not a coating. Small creases, a healed scar or a slightly uneven tone from one panel to the next are part of the material, not defects. With use the colour deepens and the surface picks up a soft sheen; no two cases age the same way.

Care

Wipe with a dry, soft cloth. Light scratches on oiled leather can be rubbed back with a fingertip. Keep it out of standing water and long direct sun. If the leather ever feels dry, a small amount of leather cream on a clean cloth, worked in gently, is all it needs.
