Lecce is our vegan option, and we would rather say that plainly than dress it up. This is not hide — it is a moulded vegan leather with a soft, matte hand, built over a rigid shell. What it does have is range: five AirPods generations and five colourways, which makes it the easiest case in the collection to actually buy for someone else.
The name comes from Lecce, in Puglia — a city built almost entirely from one soft, pale stone that its carvers could shape into anything. A material chosen for what it lets you make. That seemed like the right namesake for the piece in this collection that fits everything.
The rest of this collection is animal hide, and it behaves like it: it darkens, it scars, it takes on a patina. Lecce does none of that, and that is the trade. It stays the colour you bought, it does not need conditioning, and it costs less. If you want a case that changes with you, look at the leather ones. If you want one that stays exactly as it is — this is it.
Wipe with a damp cloth and dry it. No conditioner, no leather balm — vegan leather does not absorb them, and oil left on the surface will only attract dust.
